The night of our anniversary, instead of going out, we hung out with our friend Sarah and her kids at their house while her husband was out of town for work. It was so fun! We love that family and they make us feel right at home with them. Our anniversary evening was complete with KFC takeout, games, baths, bedtimes, and a dance party :)
This video makes me smile :D
The trip to Indy got off to a rough start, and was more of a test of our love for each other than a peaceful, relaxing getaway, but we left on Sunday still in love and wanting to go back to Indianapolis again, so those are good signs :)
Friday we left immediately after work and navigated our way through serious traffic to a food truck festival downtown. Within the first 5 minutes after parking we locked the keys in the car! Cue panic attack! Thankfully, we have AAA and a guy arrived very soon after and jimmied the door open! The food trucks were disappointing because the food was expensive and we had to pay a fee to get access to the trucks plus I was stressed about the car keys but I did have really good mac & cheese with bacon, chives, and sour cream. Yum:)
We headed to our hotel near the downtown Canal and managed to flip our open suitcase, with my laptop inside, over when pulling out of the car and all of our stuff went on the ground of the parking garage. Not cool! We managed to get it all picked up and the computer survived.
Saturday we met our friends Morgan and Kyra at the Penrod Arts Festival at the Indianapolis Museum of Art and perused the hundreds of artists' booths, listened to live music, tried free samples of beer mixed with cider (so good!) and ate more food truck food! The grounds were beautiful and despite the on and off rainy weather, we had a great time!
Always goofy :P
Saturday night we went out for a later dinner at Bru Burger. Delicious food! Highly recommend :)
Sunday was spent at church and with my Freed family just relaxing and enjoying spending time with each other.
It's been 2 pretty terrific years being married to the man that inspires me and amazes me with his wisdom, kind heart, and gentle answer. So thankful for how God has blessed me and refined me through our relationship. Can't wait for year 3!
